Noninvasive flowmeters for complex applications
The first choice for reliable, flexible and maintenance-free clamp-on flow measurement even under challenging conditions
Is your measuring point located in a hazardous area, requires a high safety integrity level (SIL) or is your process temperature above 170 °C (338 °F)? Especially demanding applications need particularly robust instrumentation. Prosonic Flow P 500 is designed for maintenance-free long-term operation – even under difficult conditions. It does not only contain all the standard functionality of our clamp-on flowmeters, but also additional product features, to cope with complex applications easily:
Lợi ích
Reliable measuring performance – proven sensors in combination with a maintenance-free mounting system provide long-term stable signals, even in high-temperature applications up to 550 °C (1022 °F)
Comparable flow information of liquid hydrocarbons – optional Petroleum application package to calculate the standard volume and identify different products in a multi-product pipeline
High safety standards – Prosonic Flow P 500 was developed in accordance with IEC 61508 functional safety requirements and maintains international approvals for hazardous areas
Reliable operation even at high temperatures
For applications with temperatures above 170 °C (338 °F), Prosonic Flow P 500 provides optional high-temperature sensors that measure reliably up to 550 °C (1022 °F). The direct coupling of the sensors to the measuring tube and the very small coupling area ensure an extremely robust measurement, which can also be completely isolated.
High-temperature applications
Thanks to the high-temperature sensors, reliable measurement results can be achieved for a variety of applications like crude oil, coker feeds, FCC and HCS crackers, as well as atmospheric and vacuum distillation units in the oil and gas industry. In the chemical industry: separators, distillation and exothermic processes. For power and energy, the sensors can be used for CSP applications with molten salt and thermal oil or for pipes with cooling water.
Simple liquid hydrocarbon insights
The Petroleum application package (PAP) for Prosonic Flow P 500 enables a calculation of the standard volume of liquid hydrocarbons to obtain comparable flow information. For this purpose, the appropriate liquid is selected in the PAP and an additional temperature measurement is taken. This way, material flows can be balanced, and leaks can be detected. Another major advantage is that the PAP identifies different liquid hydrocarbons in multi-product pipelines.
Highest safety standards
In many applications, safety is the main priority. Prosonic Flow P 500 meets the highest safety standards and was developed in accordance with IEC 61508 functional safety requirements (SIL). Additionally, the flowmeter has international approvals for hazardous areas (ATEX, IECEx, FM/CSA, EAC, UK Ex, INMETRO, NEPSI, JPN) and can be used in safety-related applications immediately after installation.
Where everything comes together
With a long list of features, functionality and approvals, Prosonic Flow P 500 ideally supports you in particularly demanding applications such as tank dewatering, water injection, or the measurement of liquid hydrocarbons in the oil industry. In combination with the high-temperature sensors, the clamp-on flowmeter also provides reliable and accurate measured values for thermal oil applications or batch production in the chemical industry.
Application example: Batch reactors
For an optimal batch production process in the chemical industry, the dosage of a wide variety of chemicals, some with high viscosity, must be closely monitored. Prosonic Flow P 500 in combination with its high-temperature sensors up to a maximum of 550 °C (1022 °F) and approvals for hazardous areas is ideally suited for this purpose. The sensors are mounted on the outside of the pipe and, thanks to FlowDC, can be used even with limited inlet and outlet runs of down to 2 x DN.
